The walking trail from the Staunton River
bridge to Randolph opened for public use in the fall of 1997.
The trail, which follows the roadbed of the former Richmond and Danville
Railroad line, allows visitors full access to the park from either
side of the river.

The 0.8 mile long trail features two new
pedestrian bridges built on the original stone railroad piers. The newly
resurfaced roadbed is suitable for both bicycle and pedestrian traffic
and offers impressive views of the original battlefield on the Charlotte
County side of the river.
